Personal, Empowering, Compassionate
We combine advanced fabrication with individualized guidance to help patients move forward with confidence—from pre-operative planning through lifelong prosthetic care.
McNeill Prosthetics Lab was founded by husband-and-wife team Tess and Josh McNeill, whose personal and professional lives are deeply rooted in the field of prosthetics.
Married for just over two years and together for more than twelve, Tess and Josh bring both partnership and purpose into their work. Together, they have spent over six years working side by side in the prosthetics industry, with a combined 32 years of professional experience - Tess with 12 years and Josh with 20.
"McNeill Prosthetics Lab was built on compassion, experience, and partnership - with the goal of delivering prosthetic care that is personal, empowering, and rooted in understanding."
At McNeill Prosthetics Lab, patient care is built on clinical precision, thoughtful planning, and long-term support.
Before surgery, outline realistic options, functional goals, and expected timelines. Connect with MPL patient advocates for peer support.
Physical preparation with shrinkers and ongoing adjustment and coping support to prepare the residual limb for prosthetic use.
In-house evaluation, measurement, fabrication, and custom fitting completed by licensed clinicians based on your anatomy and needs.
Ongoing clinical follow-up, socket replacement, adjustments, and component updates as your functional needs and body change.
Tess was born with an upper-extremity limb difference and is a transhumeral prosthesis user herself. Her firsthand understanding of limb loss and limb difference shapes every aspect of patient care - from device design and function to the emotional and mental journey that accompanies prosthetic use. As a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO), Tess blends clinical expertise with empathy that only comes from walking the same path as her patients.
In addition to her clinical work, Tess has served as an Assistant Professor in the Master’s of Orthotics and Prosthetics program at Alabama State University for the past two years. She teaches a range of prosthetic and interdisciplinary courses, collaborating with future clinicians across healthcare disciplines. Her role in education allows her to stay closely connected to evolving best practices while mentoring the next generation of Certified Prosthetists Orthotists with a strong emphasis on patient-centered, compassionate care.
Josh, a Certified Prosthetist (CP), brings decades of technical skill, problem-solving, and craftsmanship to the lab. His passion lies in creating functional, durable prosthetic solutions that help patients regain independence and confidence in their everyday lives.
At the heart of their work is a shared belief that prosthetic care extends far beyond the device itself. Tess and Josh value the long-term relationships that naturally form in prosthetic care, often working with patients across many stages of life while getting to know their families, goals, and challenges along the way.
Their commitment extends beyond the clinic, as both have volunteered internationally at prosthetics clinics in Mexico and Haiti, expanding access to care for underserved communities. They are also deeply involved in Adventure Amputee Camp, a nonprofit children’s amputee camp, which is an organization Tess attended as a child and now helps lead - providing life-changing experiences, mentorship, and community for young amputees.
